In grateful memory, this community honored the men and women who served in the Armed Services of the United States during war and paid lasting tribute to those who gave their lives in the service of their country, including Corporal Earl H. Edwards, killed in action on Nov. 19, 1944, in the U.S. Army during World War II; Staff Sergeant Carl F. Boehler, a casualty of war on Nov. 27, 1945, in the U.S. Army during World War II; Corporal Jay Dennis Webster, Jr., killed in action on Aug. 17, 1969, in the U.S. Army during Viet Nam; and Seaman 2nd Class Charles Zartman, a casualty of war on Apr. 14, 1945, in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
