Rodney Mountain is a rugged height in southeastern Oklahoma, about five miles northwest of Antlers, at the southwestern end of the Kiamichi Mountains in the Ouachita chain. Although its 767-foot summit falls short of the usual measure for a mountain, its steep slopes and rough terrain long justified the name. Nearby, the Kiamichi River and Rodney Crossing made the area an important local travel route, though movement across the mountain was once difficult, especially near Ten Mile Creek. The mountain was named for early resident Rodney Moyer, and the area once had a Rodney post office. Travel became much easier after State Highway 2 crossed the mountain in the 1950s.
