Mount Sugarloaf State Reservation in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, is a state park west of the Connecticut River that includes the summits of North and South Sugarloaf Mountains, river frontage, and two islands. Part of Connecticut River Greenway State Park, it is especially known for the broad views from South Sugarloaf, where an auto road and observation tower serve visitors from late spring through fall foliage season. The reservation supports hiking, picnicking, and scenic viewing, includes part of the Pocumtuck Ridge Trail, and also provides river access for canoe and kayak camping, while some riverside land is used for University of Massachusetts Amherst agricultural research.
