Windy Peak is an 8,335-foot summit in northern Washington’s Pasayten Wilderness, on the east side of the Cascade crest near the Canada–United States border. Part of the Okanogan Range within the North Cascades and managed by the Okanogan–Wenatchee National Forest, it rises in a landscape shaped over millions of years by tectonic activity, accreted terranes, and repeated Pleistocene glaciation. The peak also reflects the Cascades’ strong climatic divide, with Pacific weather bringing heavy winter snowfall and clearer summer conditions. Its runoff feeds tributaries of both the Methow and Similkameen rivers, tying it to two eastern Cascade drainage systems.
