Arts & Culture
The Museum of Everyday Life in Glover, Vermont, was founded in 2011 by Clare Dolan as an independent museum devoted to ordinary objects and routines usually overlooked. Housed in a 70-year-old barn on Dolan’s property, it operates informally and largely on the honor system, with mostly self-directed visits. Its permanent and seasonal exhibitions draw on contributions from community members, artists, residents, and supporters, while a philosophy department, artist residencies, and rotating philosophers help shape research and future shows. Rejecting reverence for rarity and masterpieces, it treats the common and familiar as worthy of serious, playful attention through exhibitions, writing, and performance.
