John Harris, a pioneer, founder of Mifflintown, and Presbyterian churchman, and his heirs set aside a plot of ground in 1791 for the erection of a meeting house for the German Evangelical Lutheran and Reformed congregations. The Mifflintown Messiah Evangelical Lutheran Congregation placed this memorial in July 1976.
