The remains of original settlers from this area's earliest years as a center of the timber industry rest here, including pioneers, woodsmen, and rivermen. An earlier cemetery in the 1840's and 1850's was destroyed by fire and flood, making it impossible to identify the graves for reburial. The unidentified men, women, and children buried in this location are remembered here.
