From the late 1800's until the Hamilton Building was constructed in 1929, this site was occupied by Dennings' Tin Shop, a livery stable, and Lee Stroup's Saloon. The building was originally divided into two sections, with Bobo's Dry Goods Store and later The National Store on the west side, and Covington's Drug Store on the east side. Upstairs space over the years housed the office of Dr. E.M. Alexander, the H.H. Bass Insurance agency, Ralph Stobbe's law office, a beauty parlor, and other businesses. The wall between the two sections was later opened so the entire building could become Super Drugs, which has occupied the full building as a family owned business since 1948.
