Guadalupe Outlier is an Ancestral Puebloan site in New Mexico within Chaco Culture National Historical Park, set on a narrow high mesa above the Rio Puerco about 100 kilometers from Chaco Canyon. Occupied from roughly 920 to 1130 AD, it is the easternmost Chacoan ruin and shows that some outliers were established soon after the first Great Pueblos arose in Chaco Canyon. Connected to the canyon’s Great Houses by roads and sharing key architectural traits, it also preserved local village traditions in its material culture. By the late thirteenth century, a Mesa Verde population had remodeled and occupied the site, which was excavated in 1972–1975 by Lonnie C. Pippin.
