On November 6, 1977, the tragic flood caused by the Kelly Barnes Dam break took 39 lives and devastated the campus of Toccoa Falls College. In the aftermath, the people of Toccoa and Stephens County and countless others gave personal, material, and financial aid, support and sacrifices for which the college expressed enduring gratitude on the tenth anniversary of the disaster on November 6, 1987.
