Gee Creek Wilderness is a protected wilderness area in southeastern Tennessee, located mostly in Polk County with its northeastern edge extending into Monroe County. Designated in 1975, it covers 2,493 acres within the Cherokee National Forest, or about 10 square kilometers. Rising to 2,560 feet above sea level, it is notable as the smallest wilderness area in the Cherokee National Forest. Its importance lies in preserving a compact tract of wild land within the southern Appalachians as part of the broader protected forest landscape.
