Kennedy Bridge is a wooden covered bridge in East Vincent Township near Kimberton, Pennsylvania, carrying a road over French Creek. Built in 1856, it is a 96-foot Burr truss span, a widely used 19th-century American design that paired an arch with a truss for strength. The bridge was damaged by a flood in 1884, repaired, and reinforced again in 1936. Its survival illustrates the long service life of Pennsylvania’s covered bridges, whose coverings protected their timber structures from weather. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974, it remains part of the rural French Creek landscape and a preserved example of local engineering.
