Villa Nova, one of five one-room schools of Upper Oxford Township, operated from 1866 to 1954 and was the elementary school of nationally decorated Vietnam War hero PFC. Robert "Bobby" A. Davis, who lived from 1940 to 1965. Bobby was the first in Chester County to be mortally wounded while shielding his comrades. He was the son of Gold Star Mother, Viola "Polly" S. Brown-Davis.
