White County honors those who made the supreme sacrifice and all the men and women who served their country in a time of need. Those killed in action were Lawrence C. Dean, Wilbur D. Latimer, Clark L. Marsh, Douglas E. Solomon, Michel K. Sublett, Eddy G. Sumpter, Melvin A. Wildman, Jesse J. Cunningham, Victor J. Homsley Jr., Larry L. Mitchell, Otis L. Phillips, Kenneth M. Russell, and Gerald W. Forte. Those who were prisoners of war or missing in action were William W. Smith, Edd D. Taylor, and Don R. Worley.
