Glassy Mountain is a 3,415-foot peak in the Chattahoochee National Forest of Rabun County in northeast Georgia. Its summit is known for communications and fire-control facilities, including a radio tower and a fire lookout tower built in 1941. The Forest Service later added a residence and garage in the 1960s. The mountain is bordered along its northern side by the shared route of U.S. 76 and Georgia State Route 2. It also carries NOAA Weather Radio station KXI81, which serves Clayton, Lake Burton, and nearby parts of northeast Georgia, upstate South Carolina, and western North Carolina.
