Bitzer's Mill Covered Bridge spans the Conestoga River in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and remains the oldest bridge in the county still in service. Built in 1846 by George Fink and Sam Reamsnyder, it is a single-span wooden double Burr arch truss associated with several mill properties over time. Though strengthened with later steel supports, it has remained vulnerable to damage, including broken side panels by 2006 and a 2023 collision with an oversized semi-trailer. Public opposition blocked its proposed replacement in 1962, helping preserve this rare working example of Lancaster County's transportation and milling past, later recognized on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.
