Ball Butte
Nature
Ball Butte is an 8,091-foot volcanic mountain in Oregon’s Cascade Range, located southeast of Broken Top in the central Cascades. Though shown in the app as a hill, it is a prominent mountain associated with both the region’s volcanic terrain and its winter recreation. Ball Butte is especially known as a popular back-country skiing area, with common access from Dutchman Flat Sno-Park and Upper Three Creeks Sno-Park. Its significance lies in the way its landscape supports outdoor use while reflecting the volcanic character of the central Oregon Cascades.
