On May 30, 1950, the Wawassan American Legion Post No. 422 Post Home was dedicated while these officers and Home Association directors held office: John Plowfield, commander and president; Glenn Martin, first vice commander; Ralph J. Hartz, second vice commander and director; H. Carlton Davis, adjutant; Albert M. Stradling, finance officer; John Glauner, chaplain and director; Ellsworth Moore, sergeant at arms; J. Kenworthy Lord, service officer and director; Alvin Leisey, Jr., director; and John E. Piersol, director. It was later dedicated on November 7, 1992, in their honor, and donated in memory of James Percy Eppihimer.
