Mohican Covered Bridge is a modern covered bridge created by combining modern highway engineering and aesthetic design. Its construction used contemporary steel and concrete combined with native Mohican State Forest woods. It was built and erected by Benton Bridge Company, with Donald H. Timmer as designer, Ben Pierce for Highways and Natural Resources, James A. Rhodes as Governor, Pearl E. Masheter as Director of Highways, Fred E. Morr as Director of Natural Resources, and R. T. Menuez as president.
