Heim Mound in Middleton, Wisconsin, is a preserved Native American effigy mound shaped like a fox or wolf and part of the effigy mound tradition of southern Wisconsin. It was built during the Late Woodland period, roughly between 750 and 1000 A.D. Archaeologist Charles E. Brown discovered and mapped it in 1915, and Ferdinand J. Heim later donated the land to the Wisconsin Archaeological Society in 1937. Its lasting importance was recognized by its listing on the National Register of Historic Places on March 31, 2004, and by its restoration in 2015 for the one hundredth anniversary of its discovery.
