Merrill Springs Mound Group II is an archaeological site on Lake Mendota Drive in Madison, Wisconsin, combining Native American earthworks with a nearby village site. Built by Late Woodland people between about 800 and 1100 A.D., it was one of four mound groups identified in the former Merrill Springs resort area. The group may once have included 13 to 20 mounds, but residential development destroyed many, leaving about six to eight recognized today. Surviving earthworks include two bear-shaped effigy mounds as well as linear and conical mounds, while artifacts from the adjacent village connect ceremonial construction with daily life in a larger cultural landscape along Lake Mendota.
