Hungry Hill Monument
Military
3
Hungry Hill was so called because of the privations suffered by men of the 2nd New York and 5th New Jersey Regiments of the Continental Line, who encamped here while changing a wilderness trail into a military road to pave the way for Sullivan's Expedition against the Iroquois, and an unknown soldier of the Revolution lies buried here.
