Milk Ranch Peak is a 6,250-foot summit in California’s Sierra Nevada on the boundary of the Milk Ranch/Case Mountain Wilderness Study Area and Sequoia National Park. The highest point in the study area, it rises sharply 4,450 feet above the Kaweah River in just two miles, and its slopes drain into the river’s tributaries. Its name recalls the Milk Ranch once located on the south slope below the summit and the grazing use of the ridge by the Lovelace and Works families in the mid-1800s. Officially named in 1946, the peak also features a historic fire lookout damaged in 2021 during the Paradise Fire, later part of the KNP Complex Fire.
