Built in 1787 as the home of Reverend Elias Van Bunschooten, a Dutch Reformed minister, this Dutch Colonial house stood on a 1000 acre plantation where he was also a farmer, mill operator, and large landowner. The house is of post and beam construction, and its outbuildings include a Wagon House, Ice House, and Privy. In 1971, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Ramsey gave the home to the Chinkchewunska Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and in 1974 the house and outbuildings were listed on the National Register of Historic Sites and Places.
