High Point State Park occupies 15,413 acres in New Jersey’s far northwestern corner near New York and Pennsylvania, including High Point, the state’s highest elevation at 1,803 feet. Created from land donated by Colonel Anthony R. Kuser and Susie Dryden Kuser and dedicated in 1923, the park was shaped by the Olmsted Brothers to combine scenic drives, overlooks, and recreation in a mountain setting. Its most prominent feature is the 220-foot High Point Monument, completed in 1930 on the summit, with views across three states. The park is also a major recreation area, crossed by the Appalachian Trail and supporting camping, fishing, and seasonal cross-country skiing.
