Glacier Peak
Nature
Glacier Peak is one of the tallest summits in Montana’s Beartooth Mountains, rising between 12,320 and 12,360 feet within the Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness. The mountain stands on the boundary between Custer and Gallatin national forests and is part of the elevated skyline of south-central Montana. Its prominence comes not only from its height but also from its location in a federally protected wilderness, placing it within one of the region’s most rugged expanses of high country.
