Lilacia Park is an 8.5-acre botanical garden in Lombard, Illinois, known for its large collection of lilacs and tulips and its central place in the village’s spring season. Its identity began with Colonel William Plum and his wife, Helen, who brought back two lilac cuttings after visiting breeder Victor Lemoine’s gardens in Nancy, France, and those plants formed the foundation of the collection. After Plum’s death in 1927, the grounds were left to the city as a public park. Today it features hundreds of lilac and tulip varieties and serves as the focus of Lombard’s annual Lilac Time celebration. In 2019, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
