Ray A. Kroc, founder of McDonald's Corporation, opened his first McDonald's franchise, the ninth McDonald's drive-in in the U.S., on this site on April 15, 1955. In memory of his wisdom and spirit, McDonald's Corporation dedicated this site to Ray A. Kroc, leader and friend, on April 15, 1985.
