Haw Knob is a 5,472-foot mountain in the central Unicoi Mountains on the Tennessee–North Carolina line, with its summit spanning Monroe County, Tennessee, and Graham County, North Carolina. It lies within both the Cherokee National Forest and the Nantahala National Forest. Near the Cherohala Skyway, which follows the ridge’s prominence, the mountain’s actual peak is reached by the Benton MacKaye Trail rather than directly from the road. As the highest point in Monroe County, Haw Knob holds particular geographic prominence in that part of Tennessee.
