Shaker Mountain is a 1,835-foot peak in the Taconic Mountains of western Massachusetts, in Hancock within Pittsfield State Forest. Named for nearby Hancock Shaker Village, it reflects the enduring connection between the landscape and the former Shaker religious community now preserved as a historic site. Its wooded summit and northern hardwood forest distinguish its character, while the five-mile Shaker Trail links the village to the summit and keeps the mountain central to local hiking. Part of the Taconic ridgeline, it continues north as Doll Mountain and west as Holy Mount, with its waters flowing by brooks into the Housatonic River and eventually Long Island Sound.
