Known as Lang Oak Encino's one thousand-year-old oak, this tree had a trunk diameter of twenty-four feet and a leafy spread of one hundred fifty feet. It was declared Historic-Cultural Monument No. 24 on September 6, 1963 by the City of Los Angeles, through its Cultural Heritage Commission and Cultural Affairs Department.
