Lenox College was a Presbyterian-affiliated school in Hopkinton, Iowa, that operated from 1859 to 1944 under three names before becoming Lenox College in 1884. Its surviving campus, now the Delaware County Historical Museum Complex, preserves buildings that trace the growth of a small church-related college serving eastern Iowa, including Old Main, Clarke Hall, Doolittle Hall, and Finkbonner Hall. At its center stands a Civil War monument dedicated in 1865 and described as the first on a college campus devoted to that war, honoring students and a dean who entered service. The site also preserves other historic local buildings and reflects Hopkinton’s educational, religious, and civic history.
