The National Farm Toy Museum in Dyersville, Iowa, grew from the city’s farm-toy culture and the expansion of the National Farm Toy Shows after Dave Bell and Claire Scheibe saw the need for more space. Founded in 1986, it became a center for collectors as well as an exhibition space, with about 30,000 farm toys, including one of the largest cast-iron farm toy collections, and about 30,000 annual visitors. Closely tied to the National Farm Toy Show begun in 1978, the museum presents toy production, collecting, and rural life through films, dioramas, play areas, and exhibits, helping define Dyersville as the Farm Toy Capital of the World.
