Silver Cascade Falls
Nature
Silver Cascade Falls is a waterfall on St. Mary’s Creek in North Cheyenne Cañon Park in Colorado Springs. Water descending from Buffalo Canyon flows over St. Mary’s Falls, then Silver Cascade Falls, before joining North Cheyenne Creek below Helen Hunt Falls. The falls are especially known for a spout about 50 feet below the crest, formed by an upturn in the rock face. During high flow, that spout can project water more than 10 feet outward, creating an unusual shape and motion. A short but steep trail from the Helen Hunt Falls trailhead leads to the falls, where slippery conditions and the polished granite near the top require caution.
