Helen Hunt Falls is a waterfall on Cheyenne Creek in North Cheyenne Cañon Park in Colorado Springs and one of the canyon’s easiest natural sights to reach from North Cheyenne Canyon Road. It was named for Helen Maria Hunt Jackson, an American poet and writer who later advocated better treatment of Native Americans by the U.S. government. Born in 1830 and buried in Colorado Springs after her death in San Francisco in 1885, she had a strong local connection. The falls also serve as a popular hiking destination, with the Columbine Trail ending there and another short trail continuing up to Silver Cascade Falls.
