The Katy Depot reflects Sedalia's importance in the history and development of the Missouri, Kansas and Texas Railroad, as well as the railroad's importance to the history and development of Sedalia. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979 and rededicated in May 2002, Sedalia's Katy Depot has withstood the ravages of time through thoughtful design and extraordinary vision and stands as a magnificent shrine to the architectural integrity distinctive of a bygone era.
