White Pillars, a Greek Revival house dating to circa 1840, stands on land settled in 1795 by Lt. Col. Thomas Paxton, who lived from 1736 to 1813 and is buried in the Paxton-Ramsey cemetery. The house was designed by John Ramsey, who lived from 1764 to 1847.
