La Posta de Mesilla is the original La Posta and the only station still standing on the Butterfield Trail. For more than a century and three quarters, its old adobe walls have withstood the attacks of elements and men and have sheltered Billy the Kid, Kit Carson, and Pancho Villa. Though Mesilla now sleeps, La Posta still offers its traditional hospitality and fine food to all who wander here.
