Crawford State Park in western Colorado was established in 1964 on the shore of Crawford Reservoir, a 400-acre lake about 1 mile south of Crawford. Covering 760 acres, it is a compact recreation area centered on the reservoir, with boat ramps, a swimming beach, campsites, picnic areas, a visitor center, and a 1.8-mile trail open to hikers and bicyclists. The park also brings together several plant communities typical of this region, including pinyon-juniper woodland, sagebrush, west-slope grassland, and wetland and riparian habitat around the reservoir and below the dam.
