Pioneer Cemetery contains the graves of Civil War veterans from Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Vermont, including infantry, cavalry, artillery, chaplains, lieutenants, and a surgeon, among them Robert J. Bart, John W. Beeden, William H. Case, Asa W. Fars, David Fairchild, David B. Johnson, Oramel Kimball, John McNamara, Thomas McFadden, Ansel D. Merritt, Jabez H. Moore, Thomas Morefield, Alonzo Potter, John Powers, Myron C. Raymond, Henry Robbins, Clarkson M. Ross, Martin F. Ross, Menzo Rutenber, Noah L. Stevens, William E. Stoodley, George Nelson Stock, Andrew J. Weatherwax, Monroe J. Weatherwax, and George E. Welling. The cemetery also contains veterans of other wars: Major Ira Bull, Zaccheus Gillette, and John Powers of the War of 1812; Dr. Philip Maxwell, a surgeon in the Seminole War; and Warren Rich and George Stewart Rich, who served in World War I.
