On July 3, Breathed's Battery of Beckham's Battalion in Stuart's Horse Artillery, Army of Northern Virginia, with four 3 Inch Rifles, arrived here about 2 p.m. and took an active part in the fight until the ample supply of ammunition it had received in the forenoon on the way here was exhausted. It was withdrawn from the field about dark. Its losses were 6 killed, 8 wounded, 14 total, and 10 horses killed or disabled.
