Yellowstone Lake State Park in southwestern Wisconsin occupies the shore of Yellowstone Lake, a man-made reservoir on the Yellowstone River within the larger Yellowstone Wildlife Area. The protected landscape includes the lake, its recreation facilities, and surrounding habitat, with the reservoir held by a dike and a dam at its southern end crossed by a narrow steel catwalk. The park is designed for camping and day use, offering 128 campsites, five group sites, a swimming beach, picnic areas, playgrounds, and a boat launch. Fishing for several species is a major attraction, while the adjacent wildlife area adds horse trails and a shooting range.
