Bone Mound II is a small Native American mound in southwestern Ohio, northwest of Oregonia, that is important for what its surroundings reveal about the Fort Ancient culture. Though only about 4 feet high and 50 feet across and never excavated, it stands within a mile of several other Fort Ancient sites, including mounds, two cemeteries, and the nearby Bone Stone Graves with limestone burial vaults. This unusual concentration of different burial forms in one area suggests multiple Fort Ancient groups or communities may have used the landscape. Its archaeological value was formally recognized in 1974 when it was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.
