Gottlieb Brown Covered Bridge, also known as the Sam Wagner Covered Bridge, is a historic wooden covered bridge in Liberty Township, Pennsylvania, near Potts Grove, carrying a road across Chillisquaque Creek near the Northumberland County line. Built in 1881, it is an 86-foot, 8-inch Burr Truss span, a common nineteenth-century design that combined an arch with a truss for greater strength. Its enclosed wooden form reflects rural Pennsylvania bridge-building practices that protected timber from weather and prolonged a bridge’s life. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979, it remains part of the region’s surviving covered-bridge heritage and local engineering history.
