History
San Felipe is a historic shipwreck site near Islamorada in the Florida Keys, located east of Lower Matecumbe Key and south of the San Pedro wreck site. Also known as El Lerri, El Terri, or Tyrri, it is an archaeological site that preserves part of the region’s maritime history. Its significance was formally acknowledged on August 11, 1994, when it was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic Places.
