Springbough, the Frank Sander Residence in Stamford, Connecticut, is a single-family house designed by Frank Lloyd Wright in 1952. At about 2,200 square feet, it is a relatively compact example of his late work. Built into the side of a rocky ledge, the house is closely tied to its setting, while its mahogany, burnt face brick, and glass create the natural palette and strong horizontal character associated with Wright’s residential architecture. Restored in 1996 by Anne Del Gaudio, it has been preserved as an example of Wright’s work in Connecticut and remained of interest to architectural historians and admirers of Wright.
