Fleet Obsolete is a nonprofit restoration group in Kingston, New York, working from the historic Cornell Shops Building on the Hudson River waterfront at Rondout Creek. Founded in 2005 by Robert Iannucci, it is devoted to rescuing and restoring rare World War II-era boats and artifacts, especially American PT boats. Its collection includes four scarce PT boats—PT-48, PT-459, PT-486, and PT-615—along with Packard engines for their restoration, and the former U.S. Army tug ST-2201. The effort ties preservation of some of the rarest surviving PT boats to Kingston’s older maritime industry, reusing a 19th-century steamboat machine shop for 20th-century naval craft.
