Mountaineer Glacier is a small glacier in Montana high in the Mission Mountains at about 8,200 feet above sea level. Just north of Mountaineer Peak, it covers roughly 15 acres. Though modest in size, its high, remote setting makes it part of the isolated alpine ice bodies of the northern Rockies. Its significance rests chiefly in its physical setting, elevation, and scale rather than in any longer recorded history.
