Made in a Millersburg foundry by A. Dagon, this trough served Holmes County residents who visited the courthouse for official business until about 1939. As automobile traffic increased, the hitching rail was moved to the east side of the courthouse, and the trough was removed to a farm west of town. It was recovered in 2005 and preserved by the Holmes County Historical Society.
