Gold Mountain
Science & Tech
Gold Mountain is the highest summit on Washington’s Kitsap Peninsula and in Kitsap County, rising 1,761 feet in the Blue Hills west of Bremerton. Its land is split among private property, the City of Bremerton watershed, and Green Mountain State Forest, with much of the eastern half inside the restricted watershed and the summit in a small state forest exclave just beyond the city limits. Beyond its elevation, the mountain is a significant communications and technical site, with antennas serving emergency services and Seattle-area broadcasters, the WW7RA amateur radio repeater, and a Continuously Operating Reference Station for GPS-based geodesy.
